Tom Dufour leads the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup after six rounds, following Timo Schulz’s retirement at the Saarland-Palatinate event. Opel’s November 2 report lists Dufour on 166 points, Ioan Lloyd on 160 and Schulz on 136.
Schulz and co-driver Maresa Lade went off on stage 11 and subsequently retired. Guest crew Max Reiter and Conny Nemenich won the electric competition; Opel says the fastest electric car finished ninth overall after 14 stages totalling 154 kilometres.
The championship picture has changed
The pre-event leader is now third, while Dufour takes a six-point advantage over Lloyd towards the final round. Opel lists that finale at Spa, Belgium, on November 28–29.
The positions need their labels. Winning among the electric entries is different from winning the entire rally. Similarly, a championship points total measures the season position, not the finishing order at one event.
What this adds to our preview
Our Saarland charging preview described the announced plan and standings before the event. This report provides the subsequent sporting outcome. Its points table should be used when discussing the title race after round six.
The completed distance also needs careful interpretation. It does not mean the competition cars covered every stage on one battery charge. Nor does the result, by itself, provide a measured account of charging duration or energy delivered at each stop.
What remains to be established
A technical assessment of the mobile charging system would need evidence about its operation during the event, rather than infer performance from a finishing position. Sporting results and charging-system reliability are related operational questions, but they are not interchangeable measurements.
For the title race, the next decisive evidence will come from the final round and its confirmed classification. A six-point gap explains why the contest remains close; it does not predict who will win.
Passion4Drive did not attend the rally. This account is based on Opel’s published report and does not claim independent timing or charging measurements.
